Programs for all Skill Levels
New to Skating and Hockey?
Our Learn-to-Skate program is set up so those new to skating and hockey or unsure of their skills or interest can give ice hockey a try. Each new athlete gets one-on-one support for as long as they need it. We’ll help you figure out how to stand on skates, move around, get up when you fall, and basic hockey skills when you are ready!
We have a storage locker full of donated equipment that you can use to stay safe. Sometimes it takes a few practices to get used to the equipment, the ice, and the cold environment – but if it turns out to not be a good fit, no worries – just return the equipment. If you love it, we’ll make sure you have everything you need to continue.
First step is to come out and watch a practice – check our calendar for upcoming opportunities, or email us to find out more.
Already know how to skate/play?
We’re ready when you are! Come on out and give it a try. At your first practice, we’ll make sure you have everything you need to be safe and comfortable, and we’ll get you into a group of others with similar skills.
Follow the steps below to get started
Before joining us on the ice, there are a few things that need to happen, which are outlined below. It may take a week or so to get everything done and set up, but we’ll get you out there!
Step 1: Let us know you are interested
Fill out the form below to let us know you are interested!
Step 2: Register with American Special Hockey Association (ASHA)
Everyone who plays or volunteers with TSHA must register for ASHA. Those over 18 years old also need to complete SafeSport Act Compliance.
Begin the ASHA registration process – OUR TEAM IS CAT5CANES.
Step 3: Pay your Season Registration Fee (or request relief)
To help us provide an EXCEPTIONAL experience for all of our athletes, coaches, mentors and volunteers, we ask that each athlete pay a $35 season registration fee.
If this proves to be a hardship for you, pleaseĀ email us! We do not want this to be an obstacle to participation for anyone.
Step 4: Sign up for our Email List
We announce all our practices and events through our email list. Sign up to stay up-to-date!
Step 5: Get set up with Equipment
To participate in our practices, you’ll need a full set of hockey gear. No worries! We have a locker full of donated, used equipment! We’ll get you decked out with skates, helmet, gloves, padding, pants, jersey and a stick!
